THE PLAN.

This Summer there will be big scrap for Medusa V and I want to be one of those proud individuals that can say "I fought in that campaign!" Why? Why not! Besides, this is the perfect oppertunity for me to get an army ready for once.

While my roots lie with the Imperial Guard, for this campaign I'm going with the Witch Hunters, the other force I'm quite fond off. Aye, there's also the Tau, but they are far from ready for this. Besides, Witch Hunters will give me a good reason to use the new Vostroyan Guardsmen as Imperial storm troopers.

THE LIST.

While the list may not seem strong, it's all I got really and I'm going into the great adventure of getting extra mini's and the such, which is too expensive for me and would result in even more work that still needs to be done.

HQ.

Inquisitor Lord Edmund Blackadder: Plasma pistol, power weapon, purity seals and rosarius.
Retinue: Acolyte with carapace and power weapon, sage, crusader, Imperial Guard veteran with hellgun (2), familiar and chirurgeon.
Rhino "Sanctum": Storm bolter, extra armour, smoke launcher and hunter-killer missile.

Canoness Charlotte: Inferno pistol, blessed weapon and the Cloak of St. Aspira.

HQ and Elites.

Almost everything of my Witch Hunters inquisitor retinues has been basecoated by now, with the exception of Doc Dorden (the Chirurgeon for the Inquisitor Lord) and two servo skulls. Good thing I have all mini's present, saving me the bother of swinging by GW Amsterdam to get what I still need.

Right, now on to the Troops selections that I have thus far: The two sister squads. Half of them are primed, the other half still needs to be fitting to bases, so I might as well get started with the greenstuff.

Troops.

Troops are the meat of the army and in my case, I want to provide the grinder with plenty of fleshy parts to make minced meat of. The amount of troops has actually grown quite a bit since my first draft of the list, as I added in more and more ideas (some brilliant, some wacky) in order to get the list desired.

The current version has five troops choices, which should provide an ample amount of targets for the enemy. At the heart are the two sister squads, outfitted with weapons for assaulting or just shooting things while being on the move. The two storm trooper squads are also somewhat designed as assault thingies, but the plasma gun squad is more or less tasked with taking out heavy infantry or vehicles. (by shooting them in the rear) The last squad is a small storm trooper squad with shotguns, which is a legal codex sanctioned option. Five men with shotguns, a perfect speedbump or nasty spanner for something else.

The five shotgun toting enforcers will be made from a mix of plastic scouts and Cadian bits, most likely the heads with the winged skull motif carefully removed. Luckily I still have some helmets with visors lying about and I think I can pry one of the sergeant heads from the shoulders of a mini not really needing it.

A quick update.

Got the Immolator kit today and assembled it swiftly, seeing as the Rhino kit is such an easy thing. The final result is most pleasing, a nice Adepta Sororitas transport that just needs a hunter-killer missile as the final add-on. Only question is, which one should I use and how? I built the turret with the multi-meltas, giving me a nice swapable turret option for my Immolator. Sure, I could just swap the weapons, but who's going to use heavy bolters anyway?

For some reason the gits over at GW didn't have Space Marine scouts. Talk about rotten luck, the one army they jack off to the most isn't completely present. Oh well, next month then.

Hopefully the Vostroyans will be here tomorrow, otherwise it'll be Monday at the utmost. I've been studying the 'Eavy Metal guide to painting them and hopefully I can do it just as well as they did. Fat chance, but one can always hope.
